Giving Mobility To Your Paralyzed Dog

The dogs’ case is not like the humans, since people can sit for a long time and still feel comfortable but dogs don’t.  Dogs are naturally mobile creatures, unlike human beings who can still have fun by just watching TV or using the computer, and they love to roam around and explore as their way of enjoying life.  That is why when your dog falls ill or worse becomes disabled, you can feel its sadness deeply over its situation. It’s as if your paralyzed dog is dead. It can’t go around and therefore can’t follow whatever provokes his sense of smell. It is prevented from running and playing with you if it wants to.  In many ways, it stops living as a dog.

Being a real animal lover, you just can’t find it in you to see your paralyzed dog unhappy.  If there is no clear solution to the causes of your dog’s paralysis or disability, you can at least lessen its difficulty by providing him a means to move around.  You can do so by attaching a dog wheelchair to your pet. This contraption can allow your dog to move around and experience the natural joys of being playful pet.  This may also encourage your dog to exercise its muscles and bones, a necessary activity so that the paralyzed parts can be rehabilitated and the healthy parts maintained.

However, you shouldn’t be expecting him to right away like his dog wheelchair and use it to run around the house right then and there.  In fact, it may still find it uncomfortable at first.  For a short period of time, you may have to act as a coach to your dog, encouraging it to walk around your place and try its new contraption. You will be surprised at how your pet will respond to your almost effortless coaching.  After all, all that it takes is a bit of encouragement and your canine pet will right away do what it has always wanted to do which is to run around the house and the yard to have fun and to guard your property as well.
