Milk will make a new born very sick and not survive. Around 6/7wks you can start grinding up puppy chow and mixing milk, but till then you have to go to a pet store or feed depot and get espilac (powdered formula). I'm not sure if that is how you spell it, but sounds that way. So just ask someone there for it & a experienced worker should know exactly what you're talking about! If they don't I'd 1. Just mention puppy formula. 2. Ask for someone else But either way be very cautious of which brand you buy, If that Is not In stock. Powder formula is the best bc it doesn't go bad & it will def. last longer. Price is usually around $20-25 & that's the biggest can. Also many people (workers) will tell you to buy a puppy bottle, DON'T. Most of the time no matter how you make a hole in the nipple It always turns out bad eventually (Atleast for me). Puppies naturally suck very hard when they first start drinking and the bottles drown them. You can that's happening when milk comes out of nose. Look for a syringe it takes a little longer but it's safer and you have more control on how much they consume. At that age it says 4 to every 6hrs but really if you want them to not be starving and weak start at every 2 an half hrs. Depending on what size the syringe is; Being little is around 5 whole ones per pup. Being Big is probably 2 whole every pup. Before they realize what the syringe is (takes time) they will refuse it. You will have to force the first several feedings but you will be able to tell when they are full by how big there bellies are. Make sure you don't forget to get a warm WET rag/toilet paper and wipe (damp) them to pee and poop bc without you doing that they won't go. It's before & after feedings. Anyway, I hope I covered everything goodluck & if you need help or feel like giving up let me know and I will take over untill right age only bc animal shelters majority of the time (all the time cats) put them down.
