A Description Of The Fell Ponies

The Fell pony has a distinctively English appearance since it is one of the native English breeds. It is a popular choice for riding and is known for being able to trot extremely long distances without tiring.

The Fell pony is a very hardy animal that requires much less care than the average horse. The pony can live all year round in any type of weather, so the need for a barn that is enclosed is unnecessary in most parts of the world.

Named one of the worlds most rare pony breeds, they are typically black in color, although some are grey, brown, or bay, and white markings are not uncommon. On some of their foreheads you can find an elegant looking white star.

The question is still unanswered about why the foals of the Fell ponies are at risk for fetal death. The Fell pony is rising in cost and becoming more and more uncommon due to this situation.

This pony has a magnificent mane and tail that make this pony an object of attention. Those that are not even passionate horse enthusiasts, even remark on their beauty. When the tail and the mane are well groomed, they are pleasing to look upon.

The popularity of the Fell pony is increasing as a result of people discovery their beauty and their capability. This is a larger pony with a rugged stamina, but it also has a great manner about it. The breed is popular not only with adults, but among children, to whom the Fell seems to instantly become attached and loyal.

These Fell ponies are indeed rare gems that are still being discovered. They are still carefully breeded and although considered one of the more expensive breeds, have such desirable qualities that they are well worth the investment.
